19th Nałęczów Cup

On 8th-10th of August the 19th Nałęczów Cup was held, which is a part of Polish Balloon Cup. Among the participants was SPLAST team, led by pilot Witold Filus. We are glad to announce that our crew finished on the 3rd place. The event consisted of precision flights – to the markers set by the sporting director. 1000 points was achievable in each competition, as results summarized in general ranking.

- On the first day weather conditions were not good for competing. Wind was very light and had been changing constantly, which affected all contestans flight. Luckily, on the last day the weather improved and we were able to gain many points – says Witold Filus.  

SPLAST crew won two out of 12 competitions. In addition, they came second twice with a hardly lower score than the winners.        

- It must be noted that pilot was not only one to compete. Ground crew prepares balloon for each start and oversees its technical conditions. The Nałęczów Cup has been a valuable experience for me and the whole crew, as well as a good practice before World Championship in Hungary in September. This is my 5th season in SPLAST balloon and I’m glad I can represent such company – says Witold Filus.
